Upon completion, graduates are eligible to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination, which is a step in the process to pursue registration in the State of Ohio.
Learning Outcomes
Graduates of this Veterinary Technology program from Kent State University will be able to:
- Qualify to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination
- Demonstrate successful completion of all essential skills as mandated by American Veterinary Medical Association’s Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (Appendix I of the Accreditation Policies and Procedures)
- Demonstrate competency in safely performing animal handling skills
- Demonstrate competency in decision-making abilities for patient case management, from the initial presentation to the successful outcome of the patient’s treatment and resolution of the patient’s presenting problem(s)
